Uplifting Ideals
Sometimes people shy away from discussions about God, or spiritual concepts. I suppose its because this topic usually lends itself to somebody imposing there thoughts on another rather than merely sharing positive or uplifting ideals. Imposition is not what this section is about. It is about sharing uplifting ideals and concepts of life that do not argue with your choice or way to believe.
What does it mean to believe? Is it purely a learned response or is it a personal feeling sense? There are many different and long held Spiritual ways of belief in the world. And for each of them, the believers think the interpretations of their ancestors and the prophetic teachers of their faith represent the only real truth of God. So much so, for thousands of years, humanity has chosen sides in alignment to one particular religion or another and fought to the death over who is right. We really have to maintain the knowledge that as wonderful the wisdom our ancestors have interpreted is, the interpretation is not flawless because these same people interpreted and maintained the ideal that the world was flat, for 1500 years, until we re-examined that truth. Still, in any given doctrine it all comes down to a perceived belief in a truth that has been collectively accepted by many. However, do we yet have the whole truth interpreted? Considering the origin of the phrase, "the truth will set you free," I believe the whole truth must still be yet uncovered. And this is truly something to be extended from what we currently know and such advancement will be found in personal discovery.
If we examine the concept of truth itself we may find it is most amazing because Truth is three-dimensional just like a coffee mug. Look down upon it on the table and then move around the table to see other angles, now pick it up and look at it squarely, turn it around, hold it high in the air and look again from many angles. If you described all these views sometimes it would be a cylinder, or a square, hollow or solid, there would be a protrusion, no protrusions and sometimes a handle in many different positions. Your descriptions would be vastly different but the truth itself would always be the same, and every description would be accurate with no lies. So there is never more than one truth, but there are different interpretations of that truth. Such is the reason for many different religions all interpreting the truth of Spirit. This is also true of medicine, medical doctrine and observations of aging and dis-ease, particularly where assumptions are made in tunnel vision of certain data correlating symptoms, many of which are the same but come from a different cause. These same symptoms are often from causes that have never been consciously recognized. This is the data-stuff that creates confounding client outcomes for doctors to reconcile. And the reason why a 29 year old can register bio-markers of a 45 year old and vice versa, confounding the assumed natural progression of aging.
It really does not matter which topic of human endeavour you examine you will always find different interpretations of the same truth throughout the world because inquiring minds of skeptical people in self-discovery bring advancements. Skeptical people are the most wonderful humans, because they are not followers of leaders and they are open to personal examination of truth so, when they get it, they really get it and can't be unseated by confronting a negative attitude in discussion! I commend people for healthy open-minded skepticism that draws them into their self-discovery. And you will find the Nobel prizes are given to those humans who looked beyond conventionally held academia and discovered new interpretations of truth that had been previously hidden.
Like many, I believe in God. However, I do not devalue the purposeful place of any religion but draw the distinction between the truth of Spirit and what humanity has done with spiritual knowledge. When no religion can proudly say there has been no past impropriety or bloodshed perpetrated by their doctrine in the name of God, it forces me to ponder the considerable human factor within the religions of the world. The word Religion is not God or Spirit. In all cases, it is a word representing the human interpretations of Spirit. Considering the vast atrocity's humans have perpetrated on each other, religion then, is also what we do to each other in the name of Spirit.
Could it be that Spirituality is the DOS Program at the core of our world and all religions are the interpreted man-made Applications working under the system program provided by Spirit? From my own self-discovery I believe in one spiritualism given to existence, the world over, as an inner guidance to help us find the purest path through the more trying times of negative experiences on earth. One spiritualism that would have, could have brought all of the human race together in harmony. Unfortunately, humans divided into groups by geography, race and language the world over, interpreted this spirituality differently. Subsequently, interpreting and forming many man-made concepts of religion that have obscured the basis of one-spirituality and one God. This is the reason for so many of mankind's religions being different with concepts yet so similar. So, as I also pose the inarguable truth humanity has never known all the knowledge of the universe, can we be presumptuous enough to proclaim that any given group of us knows everything there is to be taught by God.
We have long been divided by our ancestor's interpretations but I believe humanity is a work in progress. And that progress, requires the pooling of all the wisdom of God that has been interpreted in the past as well as attentive listening to the inspiration (in-spirit-ation) of God's wisdom from within us in self-discovery. More now than any other time in the past we need to stop the infighting and expand our awareness of Spirit, proactively working in our lives, regardless of our diverse religious backgrounds. This is what I try to do and it has been tremendously fruitful for me. I am not saying we have to personally accept everything we encounter but openly self-discover these things and personally discern whether there is appropriateness or reason to believe in those things that bring positive growth from within. When we move our belief into a personal feeling sense of truth we will find the collective truth that will set us free. This global open-mindedness will bring us advances in personal spirit, general knowledge, peace, tolerance and global harmony.
This is the path I have followed that has brought me vastly increased wisdom that I didn't have access to before. I have come to understand some of the inner workings of our world and the purpose of our process here. It has given me a very different, more positive view of what humanity has been doing here for thousands of years and how all that has occurred, good, bad or indifferent has been an appropriate process that brings us to this moment. It also has provided an understanding that the peaks of turmoil we may feel in this decade are really the last hurrah for the way we have confronted negativity in the past. As this decade is the threshold of transition into a very different way of human process to unfold in the next millenium of peace and harmony. This statement in itself may seem outlandish because we tend to dwell in the track record of the past but I assure you that I have seen reasonable and grounded understandings that provide this possibility with foundation for belief. These are simply the things that have brought me personal peace with a vision of reason. I write about these things in the books I am writing and I am not alone in bringing forth these understandings to share with others. However, I must say that this is in no way a new religious doctrine in the making. The most common understanding is that this is a time of personal discovery of self-connection to Spirit and realization of Spirit within that could not be nurtured by following a new preconceived doctrine. The key is self-discovery so in that thought, others and I share what we have found.
